The Woman Who Built This
Chelsea Sprouse is a dual-licensed nail technician and esthetician with nearly a decade of experience, operating Dragonfly Nail Lounge inside Ambition Salon Suites in Newport, Tennessee. After years working in high-volume salons across Middle Tennessee, she returned home to East Tennessee to build something the area had never had: a private, one-client-at-a-time luxury nail experience rooted in advanced technique, clean products, and genuine care.
Inspired by the precision of European nail artistry, the warmth of Appalachian herbalism, and educators like Kirsty Meakin, Chelsea built Dragonfly to bring a world-class nail standard to East Tennessee without apology. Every service uses the Russian manicure technique. Every product is HEMA-free, TPO-free, and cruelty-free. Every appointment includes the full ritual, no exceptions, no shortcuts, no one else in the room. She is consistently booked Wednesday through Saturday, with an active waitlist.

What is a Russian manicure and why does it matter?
A Russian manicure uses a precision electric file to carefully remove only the dead tissue around the nail without touching living skin. The result is a cleaner, tighter nail border, better product adhesion, and significantly longer wear. It requires specialized training and is not the same as a standard manicure.
What is hard gel and how is it different from acrylic?
Hard gel is a gel-based product applied with dual forms to create extensions or overlays. It contains no acrylic monomers, is non-porous, lighter, and more flexible than acrylic, and is removed by filing rather than harsh chemicals. It looks more natural, feels lighter on the nail, and is significantly safer for long-term wear.
What does HEMA-free mean and why should I care?
HEMA is one of the most common allergens in nail products. Sensitization builds silently over time you can use HEMA products for years and then suddenly develop a severe, permanent allergy that prevents you from wearing gel ever again. Choosing HEMA-free from the beginning is protection. Most salons don't know what HEMA is. We do and we refuse to use it.
Why is your pedicure waterless?
Soaking in a basin tub is one of the most significant sanitation risks in the nail industry. Jet systems and drains harbor bacteria and fungus that standard cleaning between clients cannot eliminate. A waterless Russian pedicure removes that risk entirely while producing results that last longer and look more precise than anything a foot soak and pumice stone can achieve.
Why do you only take one client at a time?
Because the experience we've promised cannot be delivered any other way. The sugar scrub, the herbal massage, the steam, the hot towels, the undivided attention none of it is possible when your tech is managing two chairs. One client at a time is a non-negotiable standard, not a limitation.
Do I need to do anything before my appointment?
Arrive with clean hands or feet. Remove any existing product from another salon before your appointment we cannot apply our products over acrylic or dip. Disclose any nail conditions during booking. That is all.
